Scientific Anglers

In 2011 we had the pleasure of hosting Keith Kenako, owner and operatior of Angling on the Fly travel service.  Aside from being an ace angler who truly appreciated the Musky Country experience, Kieth has developed professional relationships with premier outfitters all around the world.  If exotic travel is in your future plans, make sure and stop by www.anglingonthefly.com to check out some of the coolest destinations on the planet.

Headquartered in the nearby Twin Cities Metro area, we've been working with SA for the last few seasons to develop flylines specifically designed for hunting big, warmwater predators.  Their dedication to research and development, combined with the state-of-the-art technologies at their disposal have put us in the perfect position to work with them in developing the 'ideal' line for musky fly fishing.

In 2011 we had the pleasure of fishing the Rivermaster 16 from Towee and it turned out to be by far the most versatile fishing craft we've found.  Built in Tennesse by a family with generational knowledge and experience in fiberglass construction, the Rivermaster can run anything from the shallow shoals of a river to open water on big lakes and saltwater flats.  Looking forward to helping Towee field test a couple new models that are on the drawing board as well!

Designed and well-tested in the Rogue River watershed, Beulah specializes in two-handed, spey and switch rods, which we are only just beginng to explore in the north woods.  And the Beulah Blue Water series has proven to be one of the toughest, most user-friendly rods when it comes to tossing monster flies and heavy lines.

Truly the cure for the headaches and curse words caused by working with epoxy.  CCG is a one-part resin that is cured with a special UV light.  There are a number of different formulas, from epoxy-hard, to a silicone-like flexible coating, but the bottom line is, no mixing or premature curing- just apply and when you're satisfied hit it with the light.  CCG is also 100% made in the U.S.A.

Owned and operated by John Fehnel out of the port city of Duluth, MN, the Great Lakes Fly Shop is THE premier flyshop in the northland.  Tired of the standard catalog selection of fly patterns, Fehnel has focused on offering patterns tied locally, for the local fisheries.  His signature Dahlberg Diver is one of the finest deer hair bass bugs you can find, and nearly all of the flies in his shop were created by himself or another local tier.  Whether you're looking for a little local info or one of those fly patterns you just can't find anywhere else, Johhny's shop is a worthwhile stop if you find yourself in the northland or online- www.greatlakesflys.com

We had the pleasure of fishing with our new buddy Eric, purveyor of fine cigars last season.  DoubleGun is his signature line of premium cigars he personally blended and created to fit the sporting lifestyle.  Check out www.doubleguncigar.com or the Premium Tail Pro Shop for ordering information, and keep an eye out for the Musky Country private label cigar, coming soon
